Apply for this membership category if you are a new graduate from a degree program that meets academic and clinical placement requirements. 

Get your paperwork in order if you are applying to ATRA through the Academic Pathway:

1. Ensure you have a signed copy of your Practicum Placement Form
2. Request your transcripts from the following institutions by click or tap on the following convenient links:
   • University of Alberta
   • University of Lethbridge
3. If the educational institution from which you have graduated is not listed here, request your transcripts from that institution. 
4. If your current legal name does not match the legal name on your transcripts, please send a copy of your government issued change of name certificate along with your transcripts.

Please proceed to the Applications page in the Application & Renewals Section of this website and follow the instructions there.  You must meet all the Professional Membership criteria before your application is approved.

Apply for this membership category if you have completed a therapeutic recreation diploma any time after April 1, 2021, will not be pursuing a degree, and no longer meet student membership criteria.

Get your official transcripts ready to submit once you have completed the online application form.
