Land Acknowledgment
Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) acknowledge the First Nations, the Métis, and all of the peoples across Alberta who share a history and a deep connection with this land. ATRA acknowledges members practice in Treaty 4, 6, 7, 8 and 10 territories throughout Alberta. We are all Treaty people.
ATRA dedicates the efforts of this health profession to move forward in partnership with indigenous communities in the spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
ATRA endorses the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Call to Action (2015). ATRA aligns with First Nations, Inuit and Métis sharing a common understanding of well-being or wellness as something that comes from a balance of body, mind, emotion and spirit.
